Facilities Manager

Job Introduction

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Facilities Manager to join our team in Manhattan. This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our office, creating a safe, efficient, productive and attractive work environment. This role will also manage all the office systems, coordinate work of any external vendors and contractors and will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Main Responsibility

The Facilities Manager oversees the daily facility operations, maintenance, and repairs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.), oversees the use of the office space, coordinates people moves within the office, while ensuring compliance with health, safety and building regulations (OSHA). In addition, the Facilities Manager will work with the Overhead & Cost Management Manager to develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost control and seeking operational efficiencies.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate has a degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field, with 5 or more years of experience managing corporate or commercial facilities. The candidate should have strong knowledge of building management systems, health and safety regulations and should be comfortable working with external vendors and contractors. He/she should be detail oriented, be able to manage multiple priorities and have excellent problem-solving and project management skills.

Other skills and qualifications include:

  • BSc/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field
  • Certified Facility Manager, (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) professional certifications are a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational and task management skills
  • Strong follow-up skills
  • Ability to work with pace
  • Financial and budgeting acumen
  • Prior project management, office services/ facilities background strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of equipment and HVAC, construction
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner
  • Flawless orientation to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to exercise judgment to shift priorities and organize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to anticipate and troubleshoot potential obstacles proactively

The salary range for this role, based out of the NYC office, is $90,735 - $107,845.
