LGV Driver

Job Introduction

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an LGV Driver to join our Bellshill site to support Transport team in order to deliver results in line with the Supply chain strategy and to meet internal/external stakeholder requirements. To safely and efficiently drive company LGV’s between Scottish sites, ensuring full compliance with all Health & Safety/HMRC standards and relevant legislation. 

William Grant & Sons is accredited and audited under Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) and CAA Known Consignor regulations. Under these regulations, the above  role is deemed to be Security Sensitive in relation to the sale and distribution of our products. Therefore the successful candidate will be subject to criminal background checks by Disclosure Scotland.

Main Responsibility

You will support the Transport Team  to deliver results in line with the supply chain strategy and safely drive company LGV’s between Scottish sites, ensuring full compliance with all Health & Safety/HMRC standards and relevant legislation.

In addition to implementing best practice processes and procedures within Transport to maximise team effectiveness,  you will conduct basic maintenance, safety checks and housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and organised working environment.

Managing the movement & yard management of full & empty containers/trailers to ensure that customer demand is met will also be a key aspect of this role.

Our Ideal Candidate

All drivers are expected to cover shift work and will be expected to cover Day, Back and Night shift work when required on a rotational basis throughout the year.

We're a close knit and supportive team, so you will be comfortable contributing  to team meetings and supporting the implementation of team strategy. You will also be used to working in a fact paced and dynamic environment.

It is essential that you have a valid driving license with LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) Class 1, together with a valid Drivers Class 1 CPC certification, and ADR License.  Previous experience of articulated tanker driving and knowledge of HMRC requirements is preferred
