Job Introduction

We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Facilities Manager to join the Maintenance Team at our Girvan distillery. Reporting to the Maintenance Area Leader, the successful candidate will plan, organise, and effectively manage the Girvan site development.

Main Responsibility

As a key member of the team the responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading, developing and motivating a team of direct reports and contractors to achieve operational objectives in line with plans
  • Update/negotiate contracts with key suppliers and contractors on an annual basis, making timely and cost effectives decisions whilst maintaining quality of service
  • First point of contact for emergency facilities issues
  • Management of significant annual budgets including preparing, proposing and controlling expenditure, processing of expenses and invoice submissions to ensure accurate up to date records are available at all times
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and any specific legislative requirement involved in the successful operation of the services and facilities associated with COMAH
  • Support development of 5-year plans to develop our site in line with future growth

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate has a can-do attitude and solutions focused mindset. Key to success in this role are strong project management and communication skills, with a good attention to detail. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to think long term and drive continuous improvement. A background in civil engineering is desirable but not essential.
