Procurement Category Manager – CapEx, FM & MRO
The Opportunity
Join William Grant & Sons as a Procurement Category Manager, taking responsibility for the Capex, FM & MRO categories that support the performance, resilience and future growth of our manufacturing and operational sites.
You will develop and deliver category plans, manage supplier relationships, support capital project procurement and drive value, service and risk management across a varied and business-critical spend portfolio. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong category management foundations who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, understanding operational needs and making a practical, commercial difference.
This is a role for someone who is self-sufficient, curious and confident in taking ownership. The category will be yours to shape, with the opportunity to build strong category foundations, identify priorities and influence how Capex, FM & MRO are managed across the business.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and deliver category plans for CapEx, Facilities Maintenance & Maintenance Repair Operations that support site operations, capital investment activity and wider business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with operational, technical, engineering, finance and project stakeholders to understand requirements and shape effective sourcing plans.
- Lead sourcing, negotiation and contract management activity across facilities, maintenance services, MRO supplies, site services, major capital projects and associated equipment, services and contractor spend.
- Work collaboratively with contract owners, supplier custodians and internal stakeholders to resolve supplier issues, manage performance and deliver timely corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed measures, identifying opportunities to improve service, reduce risk, deliver efficiencies and support business continuity.
- The role may also support with other Operational Indirects categories, such as cleaning services, catering, security etc.
- Analyse spend, supplier capability, service levels and project requirements to support informed decision-making and long-term category planning.
- Identify cost optimisation, value improvement and simplification opportunities across both recurring operational spend and project-based expenditure.
- Ensure supplier agreements, performance metrics and governance requirements are maintained in line with William Grant & Sons procurement standards.
- Support procurement savings and value delivery targets, while balancing cost, quality, service, risk and stakeholder requirements.
- Contribute to a strong procurement culture by bringing curiosity, commercial discipline, collaboration and constructive challenge to the way we work.
About You
- Category management experience across CapEx, FM & MRO, ideally gained in a manufacturing, production, FMCG or operational environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiations effectively.
- Self-sufficient and proactive, with the confidence to own, shape and drive the category forward.
- Ability to work confidently with operational and technical stakeholders, understand business needs, and translate them into practical sourcing and supplier management plans.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement and cost optimisation.
- Skilled at building collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the business and externally.
