The Financial Reporting Team are responsible for preparing annual financial statements for several WG&S companies, ensuring compliance with accounting requirements and reporting deadlines. The Financial Reporting Team also co-ordinate the group external audit which is a key task in the annual Group Finance calendar. Working as part of a small team alongside 4 qualified accountants, the Financial Reporting Team Member will support the team in meeting these objectives and will also work independently on a range of financial compliance and reporting responsibilities.

You will use financial reporting systems and other data sources to collate, prepare and review information, ensuring its accuracy. You will engage with colleagues across the business to maintain an up-to-date awareness of reporting and system processes and use this information to support both the provision of audit evidence and the preparation of financial statements. You will deal directly with external auditors and co-ordinate the receipt of audit requests from global colleagues. In addition to the preparation of financial statements, you will prepare regular financial returns required by external regulatory bodies.

You will have an ability to work with high-volume financial information with strong attention to detail. You will be able to communicate with stakeholders of varying seniority across the business and externally and be able to develop productive working relationships. You will possess the ability to problem solve under time pressure and be able to independently manage concurrent deadlines. Having a general understanding of financial statements would be beneficial as would experience of a financial reporting system. You may be a part-qualified accountant or interested in pursuing an accountancy qualification.
