As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, maintaining and evolving our cloud platforms and services, ensuring they remain secure, resilient, scalable and cost-efficient. 

Working closely with architecture, security, application and business technology teams, you will help shape and optimise our cloud environment, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and strategic business objectives. The role offers the opportunity to drive automation, standardisation and continuous improvement across our cloud estate while contributing to the delivery of innovative technology solutions.

Working alongside the Infrastructure Leader and Cloud Platform colleagues you will:

• Maintain and optimise our Microsoft Azure cloud platform, ensuring secure, resilient and high-performing services.
• Build, manage and support cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, identity, backup and disaster recovery.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions to enable efficient, scalable and repeatable deployments.
• Monitor cloud performance, availability and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Drive cloud governance, cost optimisation and lifecycle management to maximise value and resilience.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Cyber Security and Technology teams to support cloud adoption and ensure compliance with standards and policies.
• Support hybrid cloud environments, business continuity planning and disaster recovery activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, improve operational processes and champion continuous improvement across the cloud estate.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to strengthen our cloud capabilities and strategy.

You’ll be a proactive problem-solver who enjoys collaborating with colleagues across technology teams to deliver secure, resilient and high-performing cloud services. 

You’ll have proven experience supporting Microsoft Azure cloud services, with strong knowledge of networking, identity, security, monitoring, backup and recovery services. You'll be confident using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, alongside automation and scripting technologies including PowerShell.

You’ll bring a solid understanding of cloud governance, security, compliance and cost optimisation, as well as experience working within an ITIL-based service environment. Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access or Privileged Identity Management (PIM) is desirable.
