Application Technical Analyst

Job Introduction

We have a fantastic opportunity for a keen Technical Analyst to develop, support, deliver, administer business applications and the EDI solution in line with business needs, utilising appropriate technical tools and techniques aligned to WGS Corporate GTS strategy.

Main Responsibility

The successful candidate will help design, develop, administer, and support technical solutions (including databases, EDI, reports, business logic, integration) across business applications ensuring accurate and timely delivery of key business information and functionality. They will work closely with functional pillars and relevant business contacts to gather and confirm business requirements and participate in solution design, as well as provide support and training. They will work closely with other GTS teams (such as Operations, Architects, and Client Services, Info Sec) to ensure architecture and infrastructure that underpins business applications and EDI solution is correctly specified, robust, secure, and performant, as well as liaise with 3rd parties (such as ERP vendor, trading partners, EDI targets, DBAs,) to oversee and coordinate externally delivered solutions. They will provide end-to-end support across business applications and EDI solution ensuring support calls are closed within SLAs and that system uptime meets agreed business targets.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will be a keen learner with experience of software development and delivery, as well as having an awareness of software development lifecycle, technical infrastructure, EDI principles, Database Administration, IT service management, various communication protocols such as AS2/3, SFTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, or SSL. They will have good communication skills and ability to adhere to processes and to demonstrate logical thinking, strong planning and organisation skills, as well as good analysis & troubleshooting skills of system issues, processes, data and EDI document related issues. The ability to work across organisations and cultures is essential.
