AI & Automation Engineer

Job Introduction

As an AI & Automation Engineer and play a key role in shaping how technology drives William Grant & Sons forward. You'll work with a dedicated team to design, build, and deploy secure AI and automation solutions that streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and create scalable digital capabilities. Working closely with architects, delivery teams, and business stakeholders, you'll help deliver innovative solutions that generate real business value while supporting our AI-first and automation strategy.

Main Responsibility

You'll play a key role in delivering innovative AI and automation solutions that drive efficiency, enhance user experiences, and support our digital transformation ambitions with main accountabilities including to:

• Design, build, and deploy AI and automation solutions that streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
• Develop scalable workflows using cloud services, APIs, and enterprise platforms.
• Integrate AI capabilities into business applications to improve decision-making and user experiences.
• Translate business needs into secure, scalable, AI-first solutions.
• Build and maintain automation and data pipelines across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Ensure solutions meet security, governance, and compliance standards.
• Optimise performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through continuous improvement.
• Implement CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices to support efficient deployments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance solutions to maximise business value.
• Contribute to technical standards, architecture, and the adoption of emerging AI and automation technologies.

Our Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone with experience delivering AI and automation solutions using the Microsoft ecosystem, who can partner effectively with project teams to turn ideas into scalable business outcomes.

• Experience with Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio and Copilot Work, as well as Power Apps, and automation technologies is desirable.
• Knowledge of AI, system integrations, APIs, and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work closely with project teams and stakeholders to deliver business-focused solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and continuous improvement mindset.
• Understanding of security, governance, and compliance best practices.
