Supplier Quality Area Leader

Job Introduction

This role will support the development of a ‘Quality Culture’ across WGS suppliers.

You'll utilise supplier quality information and production quality data to lead the development of supplier and contract packing Quality Assurance processes (standards, inspection protocols) that enable WG&S to produce defect free products and build a foundation of quality throughout the supply chain.

Main Responsibility

  • Deliver and maintain a program of activity designed to assure the quality of components received from our supplier base, ensuring Supplier audit, quality standards, and supplier development activities are clearly defined and implemented.
    • Support the Quality Director to design the Global supplier Quality policy and further support the global roll out in conjunction with the Quality Leadership team.
    • Define, implement, and maintain a set of both Component Quality and Delivery Standards.
    • Manage the supplier audit schedule, ensuring that all suppliers are being audited in line with our QMS requirements, and ensuring that audits are relevant and provide evidence that our suppliers are able to meet our required material specifications.
    • Drive the global roll out of WG&S Supplier Quality Standards to all regions and to all 3rd party producers, contract packers & suppliers.
    • Oversee, develop, and support team quality champions to drive quality advocacy within operations and reinforce awareness of brand standards on all products in the WGS portfolio.
    • Ensure material quality related customer complaints are thoroughly investigated, root cause established and that robust preventative actions are implemented.
    • Maintain ongoing review of quality performance across UK manufacturing sites and subcon locations to ensure adverse trends are identified, and appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented to drive improvement.
    • Ensure all Supplier Quality performance metrics are fully maintained, fully reported, and that ongoing analysis of these metrics is used to drive supplier development initiatives.
    • Ensure all Supplier Quality related process maps and process documentation are developed and aligned in accordance with WGW governance structure and the requirements of our QMS. 
    • Provide support to distilleries teams by sharing relevant best practice on supplier quality assurance procedures and the practical implementation thereof.

 

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Degree qualified
  • A great people person and manager
  • Analytical skills and a proven record of delivering results in quality at a leadership level within FMCG.
  • Skilled at analysing external data, identifying improvement opportunities and motivating corrective actions.
  • Experience of implementing quality standards globally to third party suppliers

Nice to haves:

  • Lead Auditor qualified by a recognised standards organization (e.g. UKAS, LRQI, SCI)
  • Skilled at responding to customer requests with respect to Quality
