Senior Advocacy Manager FTC

Job Introduction

Within the UK, we have an expert team of specialists within consumer connections that work with our brand teams and agency partners to make our portfolio of brands the first to mind for consumers. This role leads Advocacy within the UK as part of the UK Marketing function, who are collaboratively responsible for building our brands.

Main Responsibility

A hands-on role leading the UK advocacy strategy development and implementation to build a strong advocacy vision, oversee execution of powerful programming by driving our people and brand presence. From coordinating our team of brand ambassadors to the management of flagship events and portfolio advocacy programmes, making our portfolio of brands the first to mind for consumer and the trade, as well as engaging key influencers, partners, and colleagues.

Build a strong vision:

  • Define and execute the UK advocacy strategy to make our brands the first to mind for the trade community.
  • Lead the UK’s trade advocacy strategy and flagship programme, the 1887 Collective, designing and delivering the strategy and programme with key stakeholders, ensuring internal and external promotion, both locally and globally in collaboration with agency team.
  • Partner with the UK Marketing Team as part of Integrated Business Planning and brand plan execution to identify the role for advocacy and articulate key activities across the annual plan.
  • Work with Ambassador team to define activity calendar, secure bartender partnership and build amplification plans.
  • Lead the digital agenda with a clear role for Advocacy including activation, amplification, and capability.

Execute powerful programmes:

  • Be the lead UK point of contact for the UK Brand Ambassador team, coordinating brand advocacy plans, content creation, regular meetings, portfolio initiatives and cultural advocacy programming.
  • Support Ambassadors build Advocacy programmes in line with big bets, ensuring that each has clear measurement and multichannel consideration.
  • Drive flagship brand advocacy programmes and campaigns and integrate with broader Connections Plans

Drive our people and presence:

  • Nurture, develop and mentor team of Ambassadors with clear Personal Development Plans including digital agenda, touchpoint planning, training requirements and career development.
  • Drive positive culture of the Ambassador team, through regular meetings and city trade tours.
  • Identify Industry key influencers and creators by brand to build long term relationships and partnerships for brand initiatives.
  • Drive cross functional support to the business, supporting the Route To Consumer agenda, customer marketing teams as well as cultural and brand advocacy.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have strong advocacy and community building experience who can build and develop powerful plans within a dynamic environment. You must have demonstrable experience collaborating within a matrix organisation, with strong people coaching and influencing skills. A proven ability to build brands via advocacy across established and innovation brands, with creative flair.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to clearly define objectives and evaluate and monitor activity
  • Self-reliance and interpersonal skills to interact at all levels of the business
  • Proven ability in coaching and mentoring individuals and teams
