Project Manager - Procurement

Job Introduction

Responsible for project management of procurement activities (value engineering and sustainability projects, continuous improvement initiatives such as supplier development, and commercial tenders). Will collaborate with procurement, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to gain support and ensure delivery of desired results on time in full.

Main Responsibility

Sustainable Value Engineering (SVE)

  • Pipeline of activity – Support the delivery of the Sustainable Value Engineering pipeline by driving the completion of approved projects to agreed timelines.
  • Create buy-in – Contribute to project scoping, business cases, presentations, and risk assessments to support SVE project prioritisation and approval.
  • Project execution – Take ownership of project execution and completion, collaborating with procurement, stakeholders, and suppliers to manage on-time in full delivery. This includes full end-to-end project management, from scope and risk assessment to trial sign-off and financial and sustainable savings validation.
  • Scoping new opportunities – Collaborate with packaging suppliers and stakeholders to scope technical opportunities related to sustainability, value engineering, and continuous improvement. Scoped projects will be added to the SVE Pipeline, pitched to a Gate committee, and assigned internal resource when approved and prioritised.

 

Responsibilities – Supplier Development

  • Supplier Performance Management (SPM) – Support the SPM programme by ensuring stakeholder input, organising and analysing supplier performance data, and triggering supplier improvement and/or development opportunities.
  • Continuous improvement (external) – Lead cross functional project teams to deliver supplier performance improvement and/or development projects. Support improvement opportunities using detailed knowledge of WG&S requirements, sustainability goals, ethical compliance, and supplier capabilities.
  • Continuous improvement (internal) – Assist procurement and stakeholders by providing project management expertise to solve prioritised business issues.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record of driving projects to completion within agreed timelines. They will excel in creating buy-in for projects through scoping, business case development, and risk assessment. Ownership of project execution, including collaboration with procurement, stakeholders, and suppliers, is essential. They will lead cross-functional teams to drive external supplier performance improvement projects while also providing internal support for business issue resolution.
