Financial Controller – Global Marketing

Job Introduction

To ensure total financial control within Global Marketing (Scotch Brands), to monitor financial performance and to provide robust, insightful financial analysis to enable informed decision making and to maximise market and brand performance.

To own all aspects of the financial strategy and financial management/control for Global Marketing Scotch Brands, including the delivery of a robust and relevant financial control/governance framework.

Lead the delivery of strategic insight and financial analysis, on our global brands and new product innovations, to support decisions around resource allocation and drive the growth of our brands.

Main Responsibility

Accountabilities

  • Monitor financial performance in Global Marketing to bring insights and optimise spend effectiveness.
  • Provide relevant, necessary and insightful financial reporting and analysis to the Global Marketing team in a timely manner, in line with agreed Group Finance frameworks, enabling optimal decision making whilst maintaining strong governance and financial control.
  • Ensure a robust financial control framework is in place in accordance with the processes and policies as defined in the WGW and by Central Finance to ensure the correctness and integrity of all accounting and statutory reporting.
  • Lead the planning, budgeting, LE and 5YP, for Global Marketing Scotch Brands, in line with the Group Finance Calendar and Group Finance processes, ensuring collaboration the Global Marketing team to deliver robust plans.
  •  Lead the global consolidation of planning cycles for Ecommerce, Luxury and Innovation and review with respective Heads of teams to ensure alignment with market forecasts, challenge inputs as required.
  • Partner with Global Marketing team on key global brand projects analysing commercial and financial data to speed up the decision process, drive the commercial agenda and generate recommendations to the GMLT in support of the delivery of company growth plans.
  • Finance lead on New to world Innovation and core brand product launches. Review pricing and value chain information and make recommendations. Review NPD projects as finance lead on gate committee. Maintain a detailed understanding of product costing dynamics as part of the new product development (NPD) process, ensuring optimal profit delivery.
  • Develop standard format, process and key performance indicators (KPIs) for reviewing new product development/market opportunities
  • Drive financial awareness and understanding amongst the Global Brand team. Develop and deliver training programs for non-finance suitable for marketing and commercial roll out.
  • Responsible for internal audit compliance for Global Marketing through a robust, risk-based approach in line with the Group Risk Register, the Group Internal Audit Programme and CSA (control self-assessment) requirement.
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance as required.

Our Ideal Candidate

 

  • Qualified to degree level with finance professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), 3+ years PQE
  • Strong financial control and compliance ethic
  • Team leadership and Business Partnering experience 
  • A self-starter who enjoys working in a fast paced environment
  • Keen eye for detail, data accuracy and integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Background in FMCG or Drinks industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of financial systems
