Finance Analyst - Accounting & Controls (6 month FTC)

Job Introduction

To provide and facilitate accurate and complete Group financial reporting information by maintaining a strong global control platform and clearly defined processes. To ensure consistent, complete and accurate Group financial reporting by monitoring balance sheet reconciliation processes and performing profit reconciliations.

Main Responsibility

  • Support the delivery of the finance calendar by ensuring the integrity of information and that reporting is based on complete and accurate information.
  • Prepare, analyse and explain the monthly reconciliation of the management accounts P&L to both the GL and consolidated balance sheet.
  • Responsible for the monthly and annual global balance sheet reconciliation processes, including the animation of internal trainings. Assist with the ongoing project to implement balance sheet reconciliation software.
  • Prepare, analyse and explain the calculation to eliminate profit in stock.
  • Provide financial support and ad hoc analysis across the Group.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive the implementation of these with input and authorisation from finance leaders where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the wider Group Finance team in line with company values.
  • Support the delivery of major internal Group projects and their integration into business as usual

Our Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Experience working in an Internal Control or Financial Accounting & Reporting role
  • Comfortable engaging with a wide range of internal stakeholders
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and adopt a challenging approach to deliver robust, accurate financial data and information to meet business needs
  • Self-starter who can work on their own initiative
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  •  Attention to detail and ‘right first time mentality’

Desirable

  • Accountancy qualification or part qualified (or QBE)
