Engineering Area Leader

Job Introduction

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Engineering Area Leader, to develop and deliver Capital & SR projects to increase site capabilities and improve process efficiencies within the global packaging sites (SBP/Tullamore/Edison/Dufftown/Mexico) and the sub contracts packers. The role will be based at our Strathclyde Business Park packaging site with travel required across the other packaging sites as/when required.

Main Responsibility

  • Assist the Global Technical Director/Head of Engineering Projects in developing the five year capital plan by identifying appropriate process or equipment improvement opportunities and drive delivery of sanctioned activity.
  • Develop innovative methods of adding significant value to the business through a close working relationship with Operational Leadership across the global packaging platform. 
  • Lead a team of multi-discipline project engineers through concept / FEED (front end engineering design) stage of capital projects, covering process, packaging, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation as well as automation disciplines ensuring legislative compliance throughout.
  • Lead a team of multi-discipline projects engineers to deliver assigned Capital & SR projects to agreed scope / budget / schedule & compliance measures, ensuring a strong interface with key operational stakeholders throughout the project definition, development & handover phases.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will hold;

  • Degree level qualified or significant appropriate trade(s) discipline experience
  • Significant demonstrable track record in project management methodologies and ideally qualified to APM PMQ level.
  • High level knowledge and practise in engineering design standards
  • Knowledge of current health and safety/environmental legislative requirements
  • Experience in use of Continuous Improvement Techniques and analysis.
  • Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills.
